CHUCK MEYER
Chuck has been a square dance caller for over 40 years, 35 of which have been in the Valley. While he was working for the El Paso Natural Gas Co. he began calling and teaching square dance. After 30 years of service, he retired and now calls almost full time for four clubs here in the Valley.
During the winter
months, He teaches a class for
Cactus Corners in Phoenix on Tuesday evenings, and calls their dances on the
first Friday of the month. On
Sundays he calls at the Paradise RV Park in Sun City.
From September through May, Chuck teaches the Valley Single Squares’
beginning classes on Wednesday nights, and calls their regular dances every
Thursday. In 1995, Chuck helped
form the Valley Single Squares and will celebrate his eleventh year with them at
their anniversary dance in September.
Chuck is a member of Callerlab and records with Red Boot Records.
He and his wife live in Sun City. They have four children, three grandchildren and one great grandson.
